Single-prompt tracking sees one answer. A Thread sees the whole conversation, so it shows where a brand drops out and who takes its place.
Example data
The Thread diagnosis for a Demo Cycles prompt: the brand survives Discovery, Shortlist and Objection and is dropped at Trust; a bar per stage shows where the 5 conversations ended, 3 of them at Trust; the killer question is stage 4, Trust, “Is their after-sales service reliable?”; Rival Bikes was named instead and rivalbikes.example was the source cited; the recommendation is to publish service centre locations and warranty terms on one page.
The diagnosis: the killer question, who replaced the brand, the sources the assistant cited and what to publish next. Example data from the built-in demo brand Demo Cycles, not a real customer.

Why people look for an alternative to Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI's pricing page lists Lite at $29 a month for 15 search prompts, Standard at $189 for 100 and Premium at $489 for 400, with Enterprise from 1,000 prompts. Every plan includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot; Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude are paid add-ons on Lite, Standard and Premium. Extra prompt packs and the Data Studio connector are not available on Lite. On Lite, the add-ons cost $9 a month each for Google AI Mode and Gemini and $29 a month for Claude, so all seven engines come to $76 a month. Teams that want more assistants included, or a different kind of measurement, often compare other tools.

What Otterly.AI does well

Otterly.AI pairs monitoring with content work. Its home page describes crawlability checks, a content audit and content briefs, and its pricing page lists 1,000 GEO URL audits a month and three recommendations a week on Lite, with unlimited recommendations, the API and MCP access from Standard. Its site says it was named a Cool Vendor in Gartner's 2025 Cool Vendors for AI in Marketing. If your gap is pages that AI engines skip, that audit-to-brief workflow is aimed squarely at it.

Vouch

Vouch follows the conversation a buyer has with an AI assistant. A Thread asks six questions in order, Discovery, Shortlist, Objection, Trust, Value and Decision, and records the stage where your brand stops being named and which brands were named instead. It tracks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Copilot on every plan, with no add-ons. Starter is $39 a month for 15 tracked prompts. Vouch has no alerts, CSV export or API today. Our methodology explains how each assistant is asked.

Best for: teams that want to know which follow-up question costs them the recommendation.

Profound

Profound is built for enterprise teams. Its Enterprise plan adds up to nine engines, CSV and JSON exports, an API and SSO, and its site also describes agent analytics, Prompt Volumes and ChatGPT Shopping tracking. It offers a free 7-day trial; Enterprise is priced on request.

Best for: large teams that want breadth and governance under one contract.

Peec AI

Peec AI tracks visibility, position and sentiment for your prompts, shows which domains assistants cite, and suggests actions. Its self-serve plans let you choose 3 active models, with more as paid add-ons, and its Objections report groups the arguments AI answers raise against your brand from Pro. It lists CSV exports on every plan, an API from Pro and a Looker Studio connector from Advanced. Starter is $95 a month.

Best for: teams that report through spreadsheets, Looker Studio or an API.

Scrunch

Scrunch tracks prompts, topics and entities with persona and region filters, watches AI bot crawls, and, according to its home page, combines alerts and scheduled reports on changes in rank, citations and bot behaviour. It serves a version of your site to AI agents. Starter is $300 a month, or $250 a month billed annually.

Best for: teams that want monitoring and AI crawler data together.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ tracks up to eleven models on Starter and adds content recommendations, brand mention alerts, CSV export and a Shopify integration. It has a free plan with $25 of credit; Starter is $295 a month.

Best for: teams that want to start free, or want content tools and Shopify links in the same product.

How to choose

If you want Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode included, compare Vouch's Starter at $39 with Otterly.AI's Lite plus its add-ons at $76. If you report through spreadsheets, Peec AI lists CSV on every plan. If you need enterprise breadth, look at Profound or Scrunch. If your question is where in the buying conversation assistants stop recommending you, that is what Vouch measures; what happens after the first answer explains why it matters. If simple tracking with alerts is enough, Otterly.AI remains a good choice.

Vouch is invite-only for now. To see how Vouch asks each assistant and scores a conversation, read the methodology.

Common questions

Is there a cheaper alternative to Otterly.AI?

Otterly.AI's help centre says its free trial includes 50 prompts. Of the tools on this page, AthenaHQ has a free plan with $25 of credit. No paid plan here starts below Lite's $29. Vouch's Starter is $39 a month, $10 more, and includes Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude, the paid add-ons that bring Lite to $76 a month.

Which Otterly.AI alternative has alerts?

AthenaHQ describes alerts on its site, as Otterly.AI does, and Scrunch's home page says it combines alerts and scheduled reports on changes in rank, citations and bot behaviour. Vouch has no alerts today, and we did not find alerts on Peec AI's or Profound's pricing or home pages.

Which alternative shows multi-turn buyer conversations?

Vouch runs six-question Threads, from Discovery to Decision, and records the stage where your brand is dropped. AthenaHQ's pricing page lists conversation context. We did not find multi-turn tracking described on the other sites, Otterly.AI included.

Should I stay with Otterly.AI?

If you want low-cost prompt tracking with alerts, a content audit and a Data Studio connector, Otterly.AI covers that. Switch if you need something it does not list, such as a buyer-conversation view, CSV on every plan or enterprise governance.
